Catholic Christmas is a special religious holiday that fills the hearts with warmth and mercy. It is celebrated on December 25 in many countries of the world in honor of the birth of God's Son, who redeemed the sins of people by his death. It is the largest holiday in the Catholic world, it falls on the longest night of the year, when, according to the beliefs of Christians of the western rite, Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. In Western Ukraine, Catholic Christmas is often referred to as "Polish" Christmas, as at the time when Galicia was part of Poland, on December 25, Christmas was celebrated mainly by the Poles. This same celebration is also celebrated by Orthodox Christians (eastern rite), only it falls on January 7 (13 days later).
